Since 1972, BOND Community Federal Credit Union has offered Atlanta's intown neighborhoods a different kind of banking. Our story starts in Little Five Points, where local residents were being turned away by banks that wouldn't invest in this community. The founders of BOND didn't accept that. They organized, sold peaches on Atlanta's streets to fund the first year's member dividends, and opened our first "office" in a neighbor's kitchen. A $2,500 loan from a Mennonite Church got us off the ground. What grew from that beginning is a credit union that has served this community for more than 50 years.
A checking account at BOND is more than a place to park your paycheck. It's a way to bank with an institution that is genuinely of this community, not just in it. We're member-owned and not-for-profit, which means every dollar stays in service of the people who bank here.
BOND serves members across 23 Atlanta in-town neighborhoods. If you live, work, worship, or volunteer in one of our member communities, your checking account is waiting.
Our Personal Checking Account (also referred to as Share Draft Accounts) includes a ton of free services and extensive worldwide access. You can open a Personal Checking Account with a $100 first-time deposit. There are no monthly maintenance fees for full-time students (in Georgia), seniors (age 62 & over), anyone working within an accredited educational facility in Georgia at least 30 hrs/wk, or for accounts that maintain a $300 minimum balance all month.
Our DBA (Doing Business As) Checking Account functions in the same way but also adds a business name to your Personal Checking Account with no additional fees or restrictions; this allows you to print your business name on your checks and/or VISA© Debit Card and deposit items payable to your business. This is not related to a Business Checking Account, which can only be opened with a Federally-issued EIN or TIN; this account is opened under your name & SSN, with a business name tacked on as a DBA. Account features & fees are identical to Personal Checking Accounts.
Our Business Checking Account (also referred to as a Business Share Draft Accounts) includes a ton of services - and extensive worldwide access - completely free with a low minimum balance.
